Yes, you need compile all with the same compiler. If you want to use Intel
compiler you need to compile zlib, libpng, jasper, netcdf and mpich with
Intel. Anyway, i'm using WRF compiled with gfortran and I'm using the
libraries supplied by Ubuntu (14.04) repositories.
I make
sudo apt-get install libjasper-dev libpng12-dev zlib1g-dev libnetcdf-dev
netcdf-bin build-essential mpich2 libmpich2-dev gfortran ncl-ncarg
libncarg-data libncarg-dev grads csh m4
And I compile WRF and WPS without problems and I don't find very much
difference in speed compared with another WRF that I have compiled with
ifort in another machine with the same hardware.
