Hi Jose,
have a look at http://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users/docs/user_guide_V3/users_guide_chap5.htm#Namelist, and in particular at the _history parameters in the &time_control section.
The above link is a good resource for all questions related to namelist.input.
You can also merge existing files using nco’s ncrcat.
