[Wrf-users] WRF-NMM SMPAR Compatibility?

Hello,

That's dissappointing. Maybe it will be fixed for future releases, but then again a

dmpar configuration would be more ideal for forecasting anyway.

Thank you,

Hi

As far as i know, only dmpar works for nmm core.
Last one we tested was with both intel and gcc compilers on x86_64 amd for v3.5.1 and none worked with smpar.

I did manage to get dmpar+smpar with intel for ARW however.

Best of luck.

Has anyone else had trouble building the WRF-NMM(real_nmm) executables when configured for Shared-Memory Parallelism on a multi-core processor? We are running the latest WRF source on an Ubuntu 12.04, x64, Xeon dual core 2.00GHz, 2Gb RAM.

The system configures with Linux x64 gcc/gfortran serial normally, but will not compile the executables if I select the SMPAR option. The WRF-ARW will compile and run fine with SMPAR, it seems to be a NMM issue. I've included my configure and compile log if anyone is interested.

Thanks for any insight,
