*Salary Level A/B:* A$72,675 - A$96,231 per year, plus 17% employer
superannuation plus leave loading.The salary level will be commensurate
with experience.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified researchers to join the
Climate Change Research Centre on a project led by Dr Jason Evans to
produce an ensemble of regional climate projections for south-east
Australia using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) modeling
system. This project is funded by the New South Wales Office of
Environment and Heritage.
The successful applicant will have relevant experience in atmospheric
modelling, coupled climate modelling, regional climate modelling and
climate variability/change.An individual with a PhD in quantitative
applied mathematics or physics would also likely be very competitive
without explicit experience in regional climate modelling. The ideal
candidate will also possess demonstrated programming experience in a
Unix/Linux environment (e.g. Fontran 9X, shell scripts, NCL, R, Matlab).
This is a fulltime, fixed term position for two years with the
possibility of extension to three years.
