[Wrf-users] Geogrid: Different topo resolutions with fallback possible?

Hi list!

Is it possible to use a high resolution topography for a part of a 
domain and fall back to a lower resolution for the rest? Like done for 
Huston land usage in the WPS 2007 WRF User Tutorial.

I managed to create binary files for geogrid, but only the area covered 
by my high resolution data seems to get topography data, the uncovered 
area is kind of "flattened to mean sea level", no fall back to 30s topo 
data happens.

I created both an entry for my data as done for 30s 1m 2m ... in the 
default HGT_M section in GEOGRID.TBL and also an additional HGT_M 
section with higher priority. Both times, no fallback happend.


So: Is it not possible to merge different resolutions or am I doing 
something wrong?
