[Wrf-users] dx and dy in degrees

Dear users,

As all of us know, in the case of WRF-NMM, in the
'namelist.input' file, the value of "dx" and "dy"
should be in degrees. I am trying to use a horizontal
resolution of 30km (dx=dy=30km) for a one day
simulation. What is the equivalent of 30km in degrees?

Is it simply 30.0*(1/111) deg.? Given the condition
that dx > dy, could anybody please tell me the formula
to convert the cartesian coordinate into geographical
coordinate (dx and dy in degrees)?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Annes
