[Wrf-users] Re: Wrf-users Digest, Vol 29, Issue 12 (WRFV2.2 & netCDF)

Iain and Arnold,

Same here. netCDF was compiled with g95, using the same FCFLAGS for WRFV2.2
and netCDF. The netCDF f90 and f77 interfaces passed the tests in the
compilation phase, and also some additional examples I dug up.

Slightly surprising, but the WRFV2.2 code uses the F77 interface (i.e.
NF_CREATE, etc) rather than the F90 interface (NF90_CREATE). Not sure if this
could be the source of the problem, but seems highly unlikely.

I'm looking into gfortran now to see if that solves my problem.

Cheers,
Craig

Hi Arnold

Yes I did compile netcdf from source and told it where to find the G95
executable so that it could build the fortran-90 interface. I'm sure that
this portion worked OK. It was when I subsequently tried to build WRF (v2.1)
that I had a lot of trouble with G95. Note that I have not tried WRF v2.2
yet, but plan to do so soon; neither have I tried gfortran yet.

If you have any further advice on using Gfortran or G95 for use with WRF,
please pass it along :)

Thanks in advance...

Iain
