Dear Colleagues,

As some of you already know, a new International Astronomy Union (IAU)
working group on Comparative Solar Minima was approved at the Rio
General Assembly. Its mission is to facilitate international and
interdisciplinary research that focusses on the coupled Sun-Earth
system during solar minimum periods. Such research seeks to
characterize the system at its most basic, "ground state", but also to
understand the degree and nature of variations within and between
solar minima.

Among other things, this working group will provide an archival home
for Whole Heliosphere Interval (WHI) observations and science.

We have begun a set of web pages, which may be found at

http://ihy2007.org/IAUWG/WEBPAGES/IAUWG.shtml

The email list for this new working group will use the WHI-mail (this
address) as its starting point. We expect it to remain a low-volume
mailing list. As always, you are free to unsubscribe at any time --
see information at the bottom of the mailing list page:

I welcome any and all comments and feedback!

cheers,
Sarah
