Hi tgcmgroup:

I have saved version 1.2 of the 1-d global mean model, glbmean1.2, including
Liying and Stan's new solar EUV energy deposition, and several tuning
modifications. The code is saved in $TGCMROOT/glbmean1.2 (at both HAO and CISL).
Job scripts can be copied from $TGCMROOT/glbmean1.2/scripts. The cvs tag for
this version is glbmean1-2. I am attaching Liying's notes, which were included
in the cvs commit. See also $TGCMROOT/glbmean1.2/README.

August 1, 2007: notes for glbmean1.2:

These notes are from Liying, prior to committing, and tagging glbmean1-2
(this code will be released in $TGCMROOT/glbmean1.2):

in cons.F
(1) updated CO2 concentration from 350 ppmv to 360 ppmv
(2) updated eddy diffusion coefficients to more reasonable vaues

in ratecoef.F
(1) updated reaction rate of N(2d)+O2-->NO +O to add some temperature dependency

in solheat.F
(1) new solar EUV energy deposition
(2) added F10.7 dependency of FUV and UV

in temp.F
(1) changed temperature at 30 mb from 215 K (CO2 doubling scenario)
to 225 K (present day value)

in teti.F
(1) changed qtophe from qtophe=-4.47e+7*f107a*0.7 to qtophe=-3.0e9
qtophe represents heat flux from the magnetosphere(boundary condition).
The F10.7 dependency in the original formula does not give a good F10.7
dependency of global mean temperature, therefore, it is changed to a constant,
the value Ray originally used (Roble et al, 1987)

in comp.F
(1) modified qn2d and qn4s, since qnspe from solheat.F is already total production
    rate of N.

The global mean temperature calculated by this version of GLBMEAN is
in good agreement with the MSIS00
