Tenure Track Faculty: Atmospheric Chemistry
Rutgers University - School of Environmental and Biological Sciences
The Department of Environmental Sciences, School of Environmental and
Biological Sciences, Rutgers University, invites applicants for a tenure-track
faculty position in atmospheric chemistry. Candidates with expertise in any
aspect of atmospheric chemistry are encouraged to apply, but expertise in
chemical transport modeling or the interactions of changing climate, land-use
and energy sources with atmospheric chemistry and air quality is of particular
interest. Applicants should demonstrate a potential for high-quality teaching
as well as for developing a well funded and nationally recognized research
program. Rutgers values interdisciplinary research, and opportunities for
collaboration exist through the Climate and Environmental Change Initiative,
the Center for Environmental Prediction, the Environmental and Occupational
Health Sciences Institute, the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy,
the Rutgers Energy Institute, and the Institute for Marine and Coastal
Sciences. The successful candidate will teach atmospheric chemistry at the
graduate level and contribute to teaching in one or more undergraduate programs
in the Department (environmental science, meteorology, and bioenvironmental
engineering). The candidate will mentor masters and doctoral students in the
graduate programs in Environmental Sciences and/or Atmospheric Science. A
completed Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline is required and postdoctoral
experience is highly desirable.
How to Apply:
Candidates should submit applications electronically (as one attached .pdf
file) to the Chair of the Atmospheric Chemistry Search Committee, at
search at envsci.rutgers.edu. Applications must include a letter of interest, a
curriculum vitae, a detailed research vision, a statement of teaching
philosophy, and the names and contact information for three referees.
Application review will commence October 1st, and continue until the positions
have been filled. The position is contingent on final budget approval. Rutgers
University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
