I.M. Systems Group, Inc. (IMSG) (www.imsg.com <thismessage:/Stephanie.Fauver/Local%20Settings/Local%20Settings/Temp/www.imsg.com> ), a contractor to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Coastal Services Center (Center) in Charleston, SC seeks an individual 
to serve as Environmental Scientist, specializing in coastal climate issues, to support the Center's Ecological Applications (EcoApps) Program.  The successful candidate will be an integral part of the EcoApps team providing project management and technical support to the EcoApps program and the Center on various projects related to climate in coastal areas and its implications for coastal resource management., Projects will address issues such as the impact of sea level rise on coastal habitat, incorporate climate factors into habitat restoration and conservation planning, and identify needs for climate information among coastal resource managers.
 
Key duties and responsibilities include:
 
·         Leading and managing project teams that include external partners
·         Scoping, planning and developing new management applications based on coastal and marine climate research
·         Researching and interpreting climate information as it relates to coastal management issues
·         Facilitating the inclusion of climate data and information into existing Center projects.
·         Assisting with outreach and partnership building
·         Travel will be required
 
Key skills required for the position include:
 
·         Master's degree in Environmental or Atmospheric Science, or related field, plus two years experience
·         Understanding of coastal ecology and its response to climate-related stressors.
·         Experience with ArcGIS and web-based technologies
·         Understanding of climate data analysis
 
Additional preferences:  
 
·         Project management experience or training
·         Strong oral and written communication skills
·         Experience with developing Web-based content
·         Understanding of coastal zone management policies and practices
 
 
In addition to the core duties and skills outlined above, the position will support other functions and special projects delegated from contract management.
