Dear colleagues,

We would like to draw your attention to a survey which will be sent out to
all staff toward the end of September. This survey is part of a President
Strategic Initiative Fund which aims at investigating the feasibility of a
cross-organizational training program at NCAR/UCAR/UCP. This effort is led
by staff across the institution (NCAR/UCAR/UCP), job categories, and career
stages.

What

This anonymous survey aims to gather your opinions, feedback, and assess
your interest in a possible cross-organizational training program that, if
implemented, would be tailored to the needs and interests of NCAR/UCAR/UCP.
Information from the survey will help:

   -

determine the interest in a possible cross-organizational training
   program
   -

determine the level of support needed for a program
   -

provide feedback to shape the development of a program.

Why

This feasibility study tries to envision an expanded framework
allowing all UCAR/NCAR/UCP
staff (not just scientists and engineers) to gain work experience in a
different lab, center, program, or office. This experience is intended to
be temporary and is aimed for staff to be introduced to new science,
technical and/or leadership skills. This experience can be viewed as
professional development with the goal to increase cross-organizational and
program collaborations, help staff develop new skills, and accelerate
personal growth.

Timeline

The survey will be released to all staff by email near the end of September
2023 and will be open for three (3) weeks. Results will be analyzed by the
team leading this effort and a short synthesis report will be made
available.

Thank you for your time in participating in this initiative. Please contact
