Hello everyone -

We invite you to take a short survey on engagement, recruitment, and
retention practices at NCAR/UCAR/UCP into STEM careers at our organization.
The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and will close on
Friday, November 19.

Survey link <https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YV323JZ>

This survey is part of the UCAR President’s Strategic Initiative Fund
project “Creating a cross-institution strategy to effectively engage with
Latinx/Hispanic Communities,” led by Lorena Medina Luna, where a team of
scientists, educators, and HR specialists are working to assess:

   -

Engagement, recruitment, and retention efforts currently taking place at
   our organization with Latinx/Hispanic communities
   -

Gaps that exist in these efforts
   -

Opportunities for cross-institutional collaborations to create new
culturally-appropriate engagement and recruitment efforts towards
increasing interest in pursuing careers in Earth system sciences at
   NCAR/UCAR/UCP.

As part of this assessment, we developed this short survey
<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YV323JZ> to collect NCAR/UCAR/UCP staff
feedback on recruitment and retention of STEM professionals, as well as
education and engagement activities, at NCAR/UCAR/UCP. Your feedback will
be anonymously compiled into a report by an external evaluator to help our
organization create more equitable and effective engagement and recruitment
activities with Latino/a/x staff.

Please help us by taking the time to complete this short survey and by
encouraging your colleagues to do so, too!

We will also be holding a focus group session related to this topic,
currently scheduled for Thursday, November 18 from 1:00-2:30 pm MT. If you
are interested in participating in this focus group, please directly
contact our external evaluator, Susana Morales, at susana at leapsolutions.com
by Monday, November 15.

If you have any questions about this survey or our project, please contact
us at ncar-education at ucar.edu. Apologies in advance for folks who may
receive this email multiple times.

Thank you for your feedback!

Cheers,

Dan Zietlow, on behalf of Lorena Medina Luna
