Dear NSA,
The NSA-EC met with the NCAR Executive Committee this morning. Here are the
slides we presented:
https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/18PsNSYOM9M3JC4PW_9sCrPt4tsIsN5wBdFJKKjK3HK4/edit?usp=sharing

We identified four initiatives that we feel should be important focal
points for NSA activities in the near term:
(1) Amplify scientific voices: Synthesize and communicate perspectives and
concerns of scientific staff across the institution and job categories.
(2) Elucidate decision processes: Provide a vehicle for staff to engage in
decisions affecting the Center; increase transparency of decision making.
(3) Promote question-driven scientific initiatives: Cultivate grassroots
participation in building cross-cutting scientific initiatives,
particularly in use-inspired research.
(4) Support diversity & inclusion: work towards furthering a positive,
diverse, and welcoming workplace culture.

Our time with the EC was short, so discussion on concrete paths forward was
limited. The reception was positive, and we plan to continue conversations
of this nature.

As the NSA-EC, we are your representatives. Feel free to reach out with
your thoughts, concerns, or ideas.

Sincerely,

NSA-EC <https://internal-ncar.ucar.edu/nsa/nsa-executive-committee>
