[ncl-talk] My NCL can not read shapefiles

Hi,

Support for shapefiles in NCL is optional, determined when the code is
built.  That said, any "standard" distribution of NCL should have it built
into it. Where did you get your NCL? DId you compile it yourself, perhaps?
And what version are you running?

    ncl -V    # note uppercase V
