[ncl-talk] Question regarding wavenumber-frequency spectrum

I would say most (?all?) the figures were generated using NCL.
Possibly, the "diabatic heating (Q1)" was calculated using NCL as
described *here* <http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/wind.shtml> (see
bottom).
However, to understand what they have done to get "meridional wave number"
would require
reading the paper to see what was done. That is over and above the purpose
of ncl-talk (NCL language questions not science).
