Hi Soma,
As of right now, you would have to manually program Heat Index in Python. If you have NCL installed, I recommend using the HumanIndexMod. You would calculate Heat Index, 8 other heat stress metrics, and accurate wet bulb temperatures. The package below uses NCL’s WRAPIT to compile the code. Additionally, the HumanIndexMod module is incorporated into the Community Land Model version 5 (CLM5).
