[ncl-talk] dividing color map to intervals

Yes, but in all examples that I can find color matrix is defined
e.g.
res at xyMarkerColors = (/"darkgoldenrod","darkgreen","coral4", \
"cyan3","firebrick1","darkslateblue","limegreen", \
"lightgoldenrod","darkseagreen1","lightsteelblue1"/)
rather than as a colormap/palette
gsn_define_colormap(wks,"WhiteBlueGreenYellowRed")
Is there a way to divide a palette to e.g. 20 intervals. Or am I missing an
example that you are referring to?
Thanks
