Hi Guido,
Definitely interested. I didn't see your attachment.
As you have time, please do send along the details of your tracker algorithm. In addition, have you computed tangential and radial winds for your work?
thank you for the assistance,
Matt

Subject: Re: [ncl-talk] tropical cyclone vortex azimuthal plot
Hey Matthew,
I developed something similar (see attached). I have a NCL script that tracks a MTLC (Mediterranean Tropical-Like Cyclone) over the simulation's domain and then produces centroid plots following the MSLP minimum using different variables like temperature perturbation and MSLP.
The plot that you are trying to produce is fairly simple to obtain assuming you already have the subset of the original data; the hardest part would be to track the cyclone, but you could still prescribe the coordinate of the vortex by hand if you need just one plot.
If you are interested I can send you the detail.
Cheers

Dear NCL Users:
Just curious if anyone has developed NCL code to view a horizontal slice (azimuthal view) through a tropical vortex with WRF model output? For example, like the attached image. I understand this may be more appropriate for the wrfhelp list, and I have copied that list, but the NCL code/plot could apply to any mesoscale model output focused on a tropical cyclone vortex. Use of the gsn_ routines over wrf_contour is preferred, but I'm open at this point. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
thanks in advance,
Matt
