[ncl-talk] Fwd: Smoothing along the perimeter of a plot

Greetings,
I am creating the plot below which is masked (see image below) using NCL
v6.2.1 on:
Linux scapps-system76 3.13.0-91-generic #138-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jun 24 17:00:34
UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
There are missing values in the data over the ocean area only. I would
like to smooth the "jagged" look along the perimeter of the plot (along the
coast and California border, etc.) and not within the contoured region. Is
there a way to smooth this data along the perimeter only? The scripts are
attached. I can send sample data if needed.
