[ncl-talk] write variable in do loop

All right… Making progress!
What you need to do is define the variable td_plane BEFORE the loop, using the new command:
<http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Document/Functions/Built-in/new.shtml>
Something like:
td_plane = new((/nlevels,nlat, nlon/),typeof(td))
