Hi Dave,

I took a quick look at your vector.ncl script, and it looks like it
requires set-up, possibly from ice_diag.csh?  It will indeed be helpful if
you can create a stand-alone version.  You mention
"gsn_csm_vector_scalar_map_polar" -- do you have reason to believe the SEGV
is in that routine, or is that just the end plot you are after?
