[ncl-talk] MJO CLIVAR examples 15 and 16 [SEC=UNOFFICIAL]

Hi,

I have been teaching myself MJO through NCL mjoclivar examples at https://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/mjoclivar.shtml - certainly they are great tools to get MJO beginners like me into this subject.

I've noticed that because mjoclivar_14.ncl produces the EOF2 with an opposite sign (so PC2 has got a wrong sign), the phase diagram from mjoclivar_15.ncl shows clockwise propagation (i.e. westward propagation).

Also, phase composites produced from mjoclivar_16.ncl are off by a half cycle (i.e. phases 1-4 composites should be phases 5-8, and vice versa).

Is there any plan for these to be addressed and re-posted?

Cheers

Eunpa
