I think you are mixing instructions for the "yum" installation of NCL via the ESG instructions for the installation of NCL. We do not support the "yum" installation, as somebody else maintains this.
It looks like you downloaded the ncl_ncarg6.1.2.Linux_Debian6.0_i686_nodap_gcc44.tar.gz file and ungzipped and untarred it in the directory "/home/fkomijani/NCL 6.1.2/ncl_ncarg6.1.2.Linux_Debian6.0_i686_nodap_gcc445".
If so, then you should *only* set NCARG_ROOT, and do not set NCARG_NCARG, NCARG_LIB, NCARG_GRAPHCAPS, NCARG_FONTCAPS, or NCARG_DATABASE.
Please read the instructions carefully at:
http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Download/install.shtml
It explains how to set NCARG_ROOT. Note that it says nothing about any other NCARG_XXXX environment variables.
I think you have NCARG_ROOT set correctly, although I wouldn't normally suggest using a directory like "/home/fkomijani/NCL 6.1.2/ncl_ncarg6.1.2.Linux_Debian6.0_i686_nodap_gcc445". It doesn't hurt anything to use this directory, but it's a little awkward. Normally we would suggest something like "/home/fkomijani/NCL 6.1.2".
