  Initial Request
----------------------------------------------------------------

Hi metplus help,

I just wanted to follow up on ticket [rt.rap.ucar.edu #100090] since it has been almost 2 weeks - I didn’t want it to fall through the cracks. I’m still unable to generate any wind vector statistics (vl1l2) via grid_stat. Specifically, that file is written with header information only – no rows of data. At the same time continuous and scalar (sl1l2, cnt) stats for U and V are generated. Therefore, U and V data are being read just not interpreted correctly. As I mentioned in the previous ticket, I have set:

FCST/OBS_VAR5_OPTIONS = is_u_wind=TRUE; is_grid_relative=FALSE;
FCST/OBS_VAR6_OPTIONS = is_v_wind=TRUE; is_grid_relative=FALSE;

I welcome any ideas for testing since I have no other ideas to try. I will be extremely grateful for any help.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott,

I apologize for the delay in response. It looks like the ticket was
assigned to one developer and the initial response to your question
was
answered by another, so your follow up questions were lost in the mix.
The
developer who responded is now on vacation, so I have reassigned the
ticket
to myself. I have just returned from vacation myself, but I will
review and
respond to the ticket as soon as possible. Sorry again for the
confusion.

Thanks,
George

Hi Scott,

I just responded to the other ticket with some information. I have
some
more digging to do to determine the issue with your configuration to
produce the wind fields. I am going to close this ticket and respond
in the
other ticket with more info soon.

Thanks again for your patience.
