Initial Request
----------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Met Help Team,
I can successfully run Mode Tool of MET to plot TRMM rainfall using
read_3B42RT.py but in plot no latitude and longitude on the xy axis are
shown.
I need a plot with latitude and longitude.
I request you to send a python script so that I can plot it using the MODE
tool of MET.
Script that I am using is attached herewith.

Hello,
I see you have a question about plotting TRMM data using the MET
tools.
I want to clarify that the MODE tool within MET really is not intended
as a
plotting utility. It does an object-based verification... defining
objects
in the forecast and observations datasets, matching them between the
fields, and reporting information about those objects in the output
files.
MODE does produce a PostScript output file to visualize the object
definition and matching.
If you really just want to visualize the TRMM data without defining
objects, I'd recommend running the plot_data_plane tool. It reads the
gridded data you pass to it and produces a PostScript image for that
data.
But this is not intended as a fully functional plotting utility.
Instead,
it's just a quick look at the data to make sure that MET is rendering
it as
you'd expect.
I see that you'd like a plot containing reference latitude and
longitude
lines. Unfortunately, that plotting option does not exist in MODE or
plot_data_plane. So there's nothing within MET that would create that
output.
MODE does write a NetCDF output file containing the gridded raw data
and
object fields. You're welcome to read that data and plot it using
whatever
plotting tools you'd like.
Thanks,
