[Met_help] [rt.rap.ucar.edu #85335] History for User Guide text request

Initial Request
----------------------------------------------------------------
This is a request. The text in the MET Users' Guide is very difficult to
read. I'm not sure of the fundamental cause, but the text looks like it
was typed on a typewriter with a ribbon that was worn out (for those who
know what a typewriter ribbon is).

To clarify: it's very hard to read on a screen. Printed out it's ok.
I
have to print it out to read it.

Hi Bonny,
The documentation is created on Lyx, a LaTex editor. Do you know what
resolution settings are on your monitor? Or is this the case on all
monitors/screens on which you view the documentation?

Minna

The problem exists on every screen I've tried to use. If you look at
the
User Guide from a screen, how does it look to you?

Hi Bonnie,
The MET user guide is readable on my workstation's screen and my tiny
Mac
laptop. I don't know why it isn't rendering properly for you. Are
you on
Windows?
Thanks,
Minna

Hi Bonny,
The next time you're over at NCAR with your laptop, please drop by
John or
Minna's office so we can see exactly what the issue is. Perhaps there
are
settings that can be modified either on your display, within the PDF
viewer
you're using, or in the creation of the PDF itself. There's no clear
and
obvious solution right now... but perhaps with some tweaking, we can
make
it more readable.
Thanks,
John
