Greetings,
I am trying to convert several URMA prepbufr files to netCDF using pb2nc,
this is all to run verification with a mask file over urban vs. rural areas.
I am running pb2nc on theia using met version 6.1, but when attempting to
do so I get the following error message:
pb2nc: error while loading shared libraries: libnetcdf.so.6: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory
I am running, for now, using the default config file available from the met
tutorial website.
I can see on theia that the netCDF module is loaded, it is loaded as part
of the met v6.1 module. I don't see anything in the config file to point
to the netCDF library.
I am fairly new to met and get the feeling I am missing something fairly
obvious here...how do I configure pb2nc to find the netCDF library?

Hi Steve.
I see that you are having problems running pb2nc on theia. I'm not
sure
what modules you are loading, but you shouldn't have to do any
configuring.
I just logged in and ran:
module use /contrib/modulefiles
module load met/6.1
Then I simply typed "pb2nc" and successfully got the usage statement.
Could you please try running "module purge" and then running the
commands
above? Please let us know if you're able to get a successful run
after
taking those actions. Also, met 7.0 is available in that same area,
if
you'd like to run with the newest version of MET.

Julie,
What I have done in the interim is moved the processing from Theia to
WCOSS
(Tide), and there seem to be no issues there. My preference at this
point
would be to continue working on WCOSS, as I am more used to working on
that
system anyway.
Now to run the verification...
