Initial Request

Hi,
I am running MET 5.2 using a GMTB workflow.
When I submit the scrip that runs a task to do pcp combine verifying
accumulated precipitation with observations from CMORPH I get the following
error:
DEBUG 1: Reading input file: /scratch3/BMC/fim/Keren.Rosado/MET2/wftest/sas_
Matthew_jan/2016092900/pgrbq036.gfs.2016092900.grib2
WARNING:
WARNING: MetGrib2DataFile::data_plane() - No matching record found for
'APCP/A36'
WARNING:
ERROR :
ERROR : get_field() -> can't get data plane from file
"/scratch3/BMC/fim/Keren.Rosado/MET2/wftest/sas_Matthew_jan/2016092900/
pgrbq036.gfs.2016092900.grib2"
ERROR :
/scratch4/BMC/dtc/MET/met-5.2/bin/pcp_combine crashed!
I saw online the same error message but the problems looks like the
variable is not accumulated.
I do have accumulated APCP on my grib2 file: 292:153377639:d=2016092900:APCP
:surface:30-36 hour acc fcst:
Thanks,
Keren

Hi Keren.
I see that you are having some trouble using the pcp_combine tool.
Looking at your output from wgrib2, I believe you may have a 6 hour
accumulation (30-36 hour acc) as opposed to a 36 hour accumulation
resulting in no matching record being found for APCP.
If your accumulation interval is equal to your forecast hour, you may
want
to use "-subtract" with pcp_combine. However, if you have a 6 hour
accumulation interval, you may want to use "-add" or "-sum" with
pcp_combine.
I hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any other
questions.
Thanks,
Julie
