Hello,
I am trying to convert the attached files to *.nc files, using the MET routine ascii2nc.
While running MET inside a container, (met-6.0) using the command:
>docker -run -it -v /c/Users/scd30365/container-dtc-met/met/met-6.0/tutorial:/met/met-6.0/out met-6.0-tutorial /bin/bash
>ascii2nc out/Gonzalo_data/gonzalo08l.2014101412.trak.hwrf_noRO.txt out/Gonzalo_data/gonzalo08l.2014101412.trak.hwrf_noRO.nc
I get the error:
DEBUG 1: Config File: /usr/local/share/met/config/Ascii2NcConfig_default
ERROR :
ERROR : determine_ascii_format() -> could not determine file format based on file contents
ERROR :
I believe I need to change the Ascii2NcConfig_default file, but am not sure how to edit it to be compatible with the HWRF output files, attached. Is this even possible? Please let me know what other information you need in order to help answer this question.

Hi Dr. Diener.
I see that you are having problems running ascii2nc (met-6.0) with
your
HWRF output files. In METv6.0, ascii2nc supports five types of input
formats: SURFRAD, little_r, wwsis, aeronet, and an 11-column MET point
format.
Typically, users convert custom ascii formats into the 11-column
format
supported by ascii2nc that's described in the user's guide (Section
4.2):

Hi Dr. Diener.
I was talking with another MET developer who mentioned that your data
appears to be ATCF data. It looks like you are interested tropical
cyclone
verification.
I thought it might be helpful to point you to the online tutorial
