Initial Request
----------------------------------------------------------------
Hello met help team,
is it possible to apply the MET tool on GFS forecast data, e.g. from
https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/data-access/model-data/model-datasets/global-forcast-system-gfs
If yes, I compiled MET with grib2 support. Then I changed in the
configure file to model="GFS". But I get the following: ERROR : out
of memory! Exiting!
Thanks for any help on this, kind regards, Jonas Berndt

Jonas,
Sure, we've run MET on GFS datasets all the time.
I wonder if there's something in particular about how you set up the
grid_stat config file that led you to run out of memory.
In order to debug better, it'd be best for you to package up a concise
example of this behavior and post it to our anonymous ftp site:

Thanks,
