Dear Mr. or Mrs.,
I'm using Met in the NAMRR on theia .
I'm wondering if I can turn off the domain masking option and,hence, I
don't need to prepare those masking files for different domains.

You help is appreciated.
Ting

Hello Ting,

I see that you're using MET on Theia and have questions about defining
masking regions.

I'd suggest that you read the section in the user's guide about the
"mask"
configuration file entry. It begins on page 55:

http://www.dtcenter.org/met/users/docs/users_guide/MET_Users_Guide_v5.2.pdf

But the short answer to your question is to just use:
  grid = [ "FULL" ];
And set any other masking options to an empty list:
   poly = [];
   sid = [];  // if running Point-Stat

Setting the mask grid to "FULL" indicates that you want to compute
statistics using all grid points in your model domain.

Hope that helps clarify.

Thanks,
John Halley Gotway

John,
Thank you so much. I 'm sure I will spend much time on the doc of MET
including you pointed to.
 I will follow your suggestions on changes of the configure files to
avoid
the use of masking files.
This is the most convenient way for me now.
I will also cc your reply to a few of my colleagues who are interested
on
this too.
Your help is appreciated.
Ting
