Hello, I see that you're having trouble running the gsid2mpr tool in
MET
version 5.1. This tool is designed to convert the binary GSI
diagnostic
file output file into an ascii format for use by the MET STAT-Analysis
tool.
I see that you're passing a file named "gdas1.t12z.gsistat" to the
tool. I
am not familiar with running GSI myself, so I checked with a colleague
who
is. She does not recognize the "gsistat" naming convention, but we
suspect
you may be passing it a file which is not actually a GSI diagnostic
output
file. The GSI diagnostic test data we use here includes "diag" in the
file
name.
Please take a look on page 41 (section 3.4) of the GSI Users's Guide
for a
description of turning on the diagnostic files in the GSI namelist:
http://www.dtcenter.org/com-
GSI/users/docs/users_guide/GSIUserGuide_v3.4.pdf
If you continue experiencing problems, the next step would be sending
us a
sample data file, following the instructions listed here:
http://www.dtcenter.org/met/users/support/met_help.php#ftp
Hope that helps.
Thanks,
John Halley Gotway
