hello!
thanks for your replaying.
maybe I did not convey clearly my question last time.
because I want to write 24 times point output of my Met verification(24 stat files) to one file from first forecast point
to last forecast point.
for example first time point (20120721_030000) to last time point (20120724_000000) in my case.
 when I set all the time by rules, and I can get all the time output in one file. but it is disordered and  the rules of fcst_lead is  the same as  in my config file.

as you said

stat_analysis -job filter -lookin out -dump_row cnt_lines_00_12_24.stat -line_type CNT -fcst_lead 00 -fcst_lead 12 -fcst_lead 24
 it just output 3 forecast time point files.
when I set all the forecast time point and I also get the disodered fcst_lead files.
 I do not know why, how can I get the  rules files from first forecast point to last forecast point.

Qiang,

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you on this issue.

It sounds like STAT-Analysis is performing the filtering operation
that you'd like it to do, but it's just not sorting the data in the
way you'd like it to.  STAT-Analysis is *not* doing any sorting
of the data you pass it.  Instead, it just reads the data given to it
line-by-line and decides whether or not write the input line to the
output file.

If you'd like to modify the sort, I'd suggest using the unix 'sort'
command.  Here's an example of using sort on the output generated by
the MET test scripts.  First, I'm sorting the data by forecast
lead time (column 3) and then by model initialization time (column 4):

cd METv4.1/out/grid_stat
cat *.stat | sort -k3n -k4

That says to sort the 3rd column numerically and then the 4th column
numerically.  The sort command is pretty powerful if you play around
with it a bit.
