Hi,

We like to use MET for a region smaller than conus. We have defined the
boundary with lat,lon points. Do we need to specify the Lambert Conformity projection
information for the mother CONUS domain for MET?

Shujia,

First of all, a good way to check the format of your poly-line file is
to make sure that it has the same format as the
.poly files in the folder $MET_BASE/data/poly, where $MET_BASE is the
folder where MET is installed on your system.
Then, you specify this poly-line file to MET using the config file
setting called mask_poly and MET will run
verification over points in the bounded region only. Then, the
vx_mask field in the MET output will show the name that
you gave to your poly-line, in the first line of the .poly file. It
is not necessary to specify the project of you data
anywhere in the .poly file. If you have any questions, please let me
know.

Paul
