Initial Request

I'm triyng to install METv3.1 program, and I've installed netCDF 3.6.3,
bufrlib 10-0.1, and gsl 1.0.
I have modified user_defs.mk and when I run make in METv3.1 directory it
says:
/usr/bin/ concat_string.cc -Wall -Wshadow -static -c
Could yo help me to install it whitout mistakes, please?

Ascension,
I suspect that you may not have set the CXX setting correctly in
user_defs.mk. Please make sure that it is set to a valid c++
compiler, such as /usr/bin/g++ (for GNU). If you still have trouble,
please send me your user_defs.mk file and a make log. You can create
a make log by following the instructions in the online tutorial
(http://www.dtcenter.org/met/users/support/online_tutorial/METv3.1/compilation/compile.php).
Please go to the top-level MET directory on your system and run the
following commands, then send the make_met.log:
$ make clean
$ make >& make_met.log&

Ascension,
I do not know spanish, but I think your compiler is telling you that
it cannot find the following file on your system:
/home/ascen/AMET/gsl/gsl-1.0/include/gsl/gsl_cdf.h
If this file is not present at that location, you must find it and
update the GSL_BASE setting in user_defs.mk to point
to that location. In general, I recommend following the instructions
on the MET Online Tutorial
(http://www.dtcenter.org/met/users/support/online_tutorial/METv3.1/compilation/req_libs.php)
as closely as possible.

Ascension,
I am glad to hear that you have made progress. Remember, once MET is
built, to run the test scripts in the scripts/
directory in the MET install directory. These will ensure that your
MET built worked properly. There are instructions
in the online tutorial:
