HI,
Can you help me with this problem?
Why the point_stat cannot read the FNL grib file?  
(http://dss.ucar.edu/datazone/dsszone/ds083.2/grib1/2008/2008.05/fnl_20080501_00_00)
I attached mu config file.
The *ascii.nc file have been generated using the ASCII2NC tool with  
any problem.

Laura,

I retrieved the FNL file you indicated
(http://dss.ucar.edu/datazone/dsszone/ds083.2/grib1/2008/2008.05/fnl_20080501_00_00)
and was able to run it in MET without any problems.  Upon close
inspection
of the command line you sent to me, it looks like there's just a typo
in your arguments for Point-Stat.

   bin/point_stat
data/sample_fcst/data/sample_fcst/2008050100/fnl_20080501_00_00.grb
...

I suspect that you have an extra "data/sample_fcst" in the path for
the forecast file and that you really intend it to be
"data/sample_fcst/2008050100/fnl_20080501_00_00.grb".  Please give
that a try
and hopefully that'll solve your problem.

Also, if you haven't already done so, please be sure to update your
build of MET using the latest set of patches, as described here:
  http://www.dtcenter.org/met/users/support/known_issues/METv2.0/index.php
