[Met_help] some problems on the required lib for met with option 32 on a 64 bit machine

Dear Met_help,

i am trying to install the met package with the 32bit 
options on 64 bit machines, but without success :-(
problems arise with on the compilation of the netcdf 
version 3.6* version, with pgcc/pgf and also gcc/gfrotran, 
over debian and also fedora

when doing the ./configure step, i receive always the same 
mensager:

checking if Fortran "byte" is C "signed char"... 
configure: error: Could not link conftestf.o and 
conftest.o

do you have any ideia of the possible error?
