Ka Yee,

MET expects gridded data to be on a regular grid and on pressure levels in the vertical. So MET cannot read the NetCDF output of WRF directly. Instead, we expect that most users will run their WRF
Out files through the WRF PostProcessor. WRF-Post interpolates to pressure levels in the vertical, interpolates to a regular grid in the horizontal, may be used to derive additional fields, and
writes its output in GRIB1.

In fact, MET was written primarily to work with the output of the WRF-Post. So once you run you model output through WRF-Post, you should be fine. You can access the WRF-Post code via the NMM
download page: http://www.dtcenter.org/wrf-nmm/users/downloads/index.php

For whatever reason, I don't believe it's listed on the ARW Download page, but it is compatible with output from both the ARW and NMM cores.

Hope that helps!

John
