Good morning, - albeit a smoky one. It is refreshingly cool here in Boulder.

Good news! Professor Andrew Winters in the Department of Atmospheric and
Ocean Sciences at CU Boulder has a message for grad students and postdocs
interested in giving a conference-style talk in their department. It's
wonderful that ATOC is opening up this opportunity to the broader grad
student and postdoc community! It gives the speaker an opportunity to get
exposure on their work, make connections, and practice speaking, and it
provides their department with wider access to the research community.
Thank you, Andrew and ATOC! - Valerie

Dear all,

I hope you've been having a great summer. I'm reaching out to you on behalf
of the ATOC Colloquium committee at CU. During each semester we typically
hold seminars on Fridays between 11a–12p on a biweekly basis, alternating
between full-length 1-hour seminars and shorter conference length
presentations by grad students/postdocs. We're currently in the process of
filling our fall schedule, and have several openings for conference length
talks on 9/17, 10/15, and 11/12. We are open to both in-person and virtual
presentations depending on what the speaker is most comfortable with.

Once we hear back from anyone interested, Jan Lenaerts (who's also on the
committee with me at CU) and I will select individuals to participate and
extend a formal invitation. Our selections are largely geared around making
sure we include a diverse range of individuals, topics, and career stages
as part of the seminar series. If there are more people interested than
spots available, we will certainly keep the names of those individuals on a
short list for invitations in future semesters!
Any help you might be able to provide in advertising this opportunity would
be greatly appreciated, and let me know if this request should be forwarded
on to someone else. Anyone interested in presenting is welcome to contact
me via this email address.

Best,
Andrew
