All,

In recognition that the last week has been an especially difficult one, the
Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ODEI) will hold a listening
session *today from noon to 1 p.m. *for anyone who would like to talk to
others about the recent killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and
Ahmaud Arbery, and others whose names we have not heard.

These events have understandably sparked outrage, frustration, and despair
across this country as well as in our state and our community, leading to
days of protests and unrest. We are all feeling a range of emotions and
reactions. ODEI hopes that this listening session will provide
opportunities to process with colleagues. To join this listening session,
please see details below or email Kristen Aponte (kaponte at ucar.edu) or Katy
Putsavage (putsuvag at ucar.edu) for log in information.

If you are unable to attend the listening session the ODEI team is always
available to talk with you. Other resources available to help you, include Dr.
Lori Kleinman
<https://operations.ucar.edu/system/files/internal/7135/email_coronavirus_05.08.20.pdf>,
a licensed psychologist available to meet with staff at no cost. As always,
staff can also access counseling through the Employee Assistance Program
<https://operations.ucar.edu/hr/employee-assistance-program-eap>.

1. You are not working from home, you are at home, during a pandemic,
trying to get work done.
2. Your physical, mental, and emotional health is the most important
thing right now.
3. Don't compare your ability to cope with everyone else's. 4. Don't
attempt to compensate for lost productivity by working longer hours.
5. We will get through this.
