Hello fellow science community!

The BVSD Corden Pharma Regional Science Fair *Thursday, Feb 20th*, held in
the *University of Colorado's Glenn Miller Ballroom*, is still in need of
at least 80 volunteer judges. There are several categories in fields such
as environment, earth science, mathematics, energy, and engineering. This
is a great opportunity to encourage kids in their pursuit of science.
Volunteers can select either just the morning, afternoon, or both sessions
and a meal is provided!

Additionally, later in the spring, there is a state science fair hosted at
CSU Fort Collins. They are often in need of judges. This one requires a
little bit more time commitment as it is an hour away and the session is a
little longer, but it's still incredibly valuable to students from all over
the state and gives them the opportunity to go all the way to nationals.
This is held *April 2nd* this year and the volunteer link is below. If you
volunteer for both, it is typically advised to specify which events you
judged at regionals so you don't have any conflicts of interest at state.

I personally thank you all so much! Encouraging the children and their
pursuit of curiosity and science is part of our roles as scientists, in my
biased opinion. Science fairs are often considered outreach and networking,
as you will meet other professionals, and from my own experience have been
typically encouraged and supported by employers. You should ask if that's a
source of concern.
