[Go-essp-tech] Incorrect dataset names

Hi Stephen, All,

Republishing these "CMIP5 / IPCC Fifth Assessment Report" datasets with
the proper name will update the related Gateway dataset name. As noted,
there may be an enormous number of datasets to update and this may not
be practical to do.

To update all of these CMIP5 dataset names at your Gateway without
republishing, you can run the following SQL. Please be sure to backup
your database prior to doing so.

--
-- SQL to update all CMIP5 related dataset names in the Gateway database.
--
update metadata.resource
set name = replace (name,'project=CMIP5 / IPCC Fifth Assessment
Report,','project=CMIP5,'),
date_updated = now()
where name like '%project=CMIP5 / IPCC Fifth Assessment Report,%';
--
-- END
--

Additional information can be found below:

https://wiki.ucar.edu/display/esgcet/FAQ#FAQ-updatedataset

I can echo what Stephen notes below regarding the publisher
configuration. In order to make this default CMIP5 name change by had,
you need to:

1) update the esg.ini project options for cmip5.
2) update the related publisher database project table record.

These configuration updates will be handled in the next publisher release.

Thanks,

-Eric

The default is correct now but many are probably still running old datanode installs. Those centres that haven't changed the default or upgraded will have the problem.

A search for "IPCC Fifth" suggests we have 4021 datasets with this error, from CCCMA, CNRM-CERFACS, CSIRO-QCCCE, IPSL, MOHC, and NOAA-GFDL. We should develop a plan to correct this -- I guess this means republishing the affected datasets,
