Hi all,
	last Thursday we held a conference call on discussing and finalizing the directory structure and filename conventions for observational datasets to be included in the CMIP5 archive.

The result of the call was a new proposal for observations that deviates in part from the DRS convention for models: it still uses all the DRS fields that have a meaning for observations, so that
users might use these fields in searches and find both models and obs, but it also re-organizes the order of the fields in a hierarchy that makes more sense for observations, and uses
other obs-specific fields.
