Dear Nathan and development team,

You indicate that some of the search-related problems have been fixed.
A week or 2 ago, I think I saw a mock-up of the Apache SOLR based
engine, and it looked much improved. Could you tell me whether the new
search engine will see *all* the datasets, even the one the present
search appears to miss? There were a few messages sent to the esg help
desk recently about this. One is copied below:

Subject: CNRM-CM5 datasets disappeared?

Hi, couple of weeks ago I was able to retrieve CNRM-CM5 atmosphere
monthly frequency datasets for experiment RCP4.5 and RCP8.5. But these
datasets seem to be missing from your portal now. Were there problems
with the datasets, thus the removal from the system? Please advise.

Thanks,
Derek

One explanation offered, which assumed that access by Derek was through
PCMDI, was that perhaps the older gateway version in use at PCMDI might
be responsible. If so, I guess we won't know if it has been fixed until
the newer version is installed.

thanks,
Karl
