The Amaya Lab is seeking a highly motivated PhD student interested in:

  • Large-scale ocean-atmosphere interactions
  • Climate predictability and predictions
  • Marine extremes

If you or somebody you know might be interested, please consider applying
to join the Department of Marine, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at NC
State University starting Fall 2027!

Candidates are encouraged to propose creative project ideas that connect
their own interests with the group’s research. These ideas will serve as
starting points for discussion and will be developed collaboratively during
the selection process and PhD.

The position is fully funded for the first 2-years, including equipment,
conference travel, and compute. Applications are due January 31, 2026. Feel
