1. Number of Positions: One (1) Professor (Term: 10 years, renewable)

3. Field of Specialization: Geo-informatics, with particular emphasis on
climatology, meteorological disaster prevention, and climate change
adaptation
4. Teaching Responsibilities:

5. Expected Date of Appointment: As early as possible on or after
October 1, 2026
6. Qualifications:
Applicants must satisfy all of the following:
1. Hold a Doctoral degree (Ph.D.)
2. Have at least seven (7) years of experience in education and research
at a university or other higher education institution, or research
experience at private companies or governmental/public research institutions
3. Possess significant research achievements in the relevant field and
be capable of supervising education and research in both master’s and
doctoral programs
4. Be motivated to obtain external research funding such as
Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI)
5. Be able to actively contribute to university-wide activities,
including regional engagement
6. Have a strong interest in revitalizing the local community and
related industries
7. Be able to lecture in English
8. Demonstrate enthusiasm for educating international students
9. Be willing to participate in entrance examination–related duties
10. Be able to contribute to general education

principal investigator or co-investigator, and specifying funding amounts.

5. Summary of previous research achievements (approximately one A4 page)
6. Statement of future research plans and educational aspirations
(approximately one A4 page)
7. Contact information of two referees who can provide evaluations of
the applicant (format not specified)

12. Employment Conditions
1. Working conditions are governed by the University of Toyama Staff
Employment Regulations.
2. Salary will be determined based on academic background and
professional experience.
3. The salary system is annual-salary based. (Annual salary system that
provides a severance payment upon retirement) Details of the system can
