[ES_JOBS_NET] PhD positions in organic geochemistry and palaeobiology at MARUM, University of Bremen

Dear colleagues,

Two four-year PhD positions at the interface of organic geochemistry, isotope geochemistry, and palaeobiology are now open at MARUM, University of Bremen. 

The positions are part of the ERC project Deconvolving the early record of eukaryotic evolution, which investigates how life and environments coevolved during the Neoproterozoic and early Palaeozoic. One project will explore major carbon isotope excursions using biomarker and compound-specific isotope analyses. The second will investigate the emergence of eukaryote-dominated marine ecosystems by integrating biomarkers, fossils and stable isotope records. 

The application deadline is 11 August 2026, and the start date is flexible, with an early start preferred.
