[ES_JOBS_NET] Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies at Kenyon College

Kenyon College invites applications for a two-year visiting position in the
Environmental Studies Department beginning in July 2026. We seek a broadly
trained earth scientist with interest in contributing to an
interdisciplinary department and expertise in a range of fields, including
(but not limited to) environmental geology, physical geography, climate
science, or geochemistry/biogeochemistry. Teaching expectations are five
courses per year (labs count toward this load), and may include Earth
Systems Science, introductory lecture and laboratory courses, and new
upper-level courses in the applicant’s area of expertise. The department
has a strong commitment to faculty mentoring and to helping visitors
achieve their career goals. Opportunities exist for collaborative research
with students, including support for summer research. Applicants should
hold a Ph.D. by the July 2026 start date.

A complete application will be composed of 1) a cover letter, 2) a
Curriculum Vitae, 3) a two-page statement of the applicant’s teaching
philosophy that includes the applicant’s plans for teaching diverse student
populations and using inclusive pedagogy, 4) an unofficial graduate
transcript, and 5) contact information for three professional references
