The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) is hiring a Climate AI Summer Intern to join our Climate Resilience Analysis team. This fully-remote, paid internship is a strong fit for PhD students interested in applying machine learning and AI to earth systems research and real-world climate risk challenges in the electricity sector.

You will work with a collaborative team of approximately 10 researchers who partner closely with industry, academia, and local, state, and federal governments. The internship offers the opportunity to contribute directly to EPRI’s established research portfolio on climate risk and resilience, including efforts to characterize historical and projected weather and climate trends, assess climate-driven impacts, and conduct quantitative climate risk analyses that inform adaptation planning and resilience strategies for energy systems.

Ideal candidates are PhD students with experience applying AI or ML methods to earth science or climate-related research topics, strong quantitative and coding skills (particularly in Python), and familiarity with historical meteorological and/or projected hydroclimate datasets. Start date and work schedule are flexible, and applications will be reviewed as they are received.
